About us and faqs

A Very Special Walk (AVSW) is the signature fundraising event of Autism Resource Centre (Singapore), running since 2005. Originally launched as a walk, the event has evolved over the years to include various activities, including walks, runs, concerts, carnivals, and even movie treats!

This year, AVSW 2026 comprises a 2-part event:

  • A 6-week online challenge (from 4 Jul to 15 Aug), and
  • A charity concert on 25 July 2026 (Saturday) at Capitol Theatre featuring Harvard University's signature jazz a cappella group; The Harvard Din & Tonics, and performances by students from Pathlight School.

As ARC(S) journeys with the children we serve into adulthood, we are building and expanding services to meet their growing needs in employment, lifelong learning, independent living training, and residential housing options.

Funds raised from AVSW will go towards supporting these vital services to empower adults on the autism spectrum to lead independent and meaningful lives beyond their school years.

You may sign up for the online challenge and raise funds for ARC’s programmes and services or purchase tickets to our charity concert. Alternatively, you may make an outright donation to support our cause.

  • Matinee Show: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Evening Show: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

A Very Special Voice Online Challenge is an online fundraising initiative by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) that invites everyone to use their voice to make a difference.

Centered around the theme "Your Voice, Your Way," participants can take on a fundraising challenge in a way that is meaningful to them. Whether through singing, speaking, performing, creating content, or any other creative expression, every voice has the power to inspire support for the autism community.

Participants can create a personal fundraising profile on the AVSW website, share photos and videos of their challenge journey, and invite friends and family to support their efforts by donating.

Every dollar raised helps fund vital programmes and services that empower individuals on the autism spectrum to learn, work and live meaningful and independent lives.

The challenge runs for six weeks, from 4 July to 15 August 2026. Participants create a personalised fundraising profile on the AVSW website and take on a challenge of their choice that reflects the theme "Your Voice, Your Way."

Throughout the campaign, they share photos and videos of their journey on their profile page and/or social media, inviting family and friends to donate in support of their challenge. Every contribution helps fund programmes and services that empower individuals on the autism spectrum.

Of course! The event is open to everyone of all ages! However, participants under the age of 18 years old are required to obtain consent from their parents/guardians before registering for the campaign. Their parents/guardians must also agree to the declaration stated on the registration page.

The challenge is from 4 July to 15 August 2026.

There are no strict deadlines for submission.

You can complete and submit your photos/videos at your own pace, so long as everything is completed by 15 August 2026.

It is fine if you do not complete the entire challenge. All donations raised by you or your team during the campaign period will still go to ARC(S), and no deductions will be made even if you do not complete the challenge.

Yes, feel free to submit multiple photos/videos across the different categories. The more creative, the better!

Not at all! This challenge is about creativity, raising autism awareness, and fundraising for a meaningful cause. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of photography experience.

You can view the amount you have raised on your profile or your team's profile page. The total donation amount that you or your team have raised will be updated daily, and all your supporters will be shown on the page.

Absolutely! Even if you choose not to participate in or complete the full challenge, you can still sign up and rally your friends and family to donate through your personal profile page.

Whether you are participating in the online challenge or simply rallying your friends and family to donate, your involvement will make a meaningful impact!

By participating, you agree that your submitted photos/videos may be used in AVSW’s promotional materials, social media, and website content, with appropriate credit given where applicable. For more details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
